Educating New Board Members

It is critical to communicate with new school board members, providing them with information about your district to make them more effective and able to contribute to the success of the district. What information do they need?

  • An introduction to board policies and procedures
  • A thorough review of the budget and budget process
  • An explanation and review of union contracts
  • A review of the strategic plan or organizational goals
  • A brief overview of the curriculum, the process for textbook adoptions, and staff development programs

Plan now to bring your new board members up to speed.
