Joe Koenig has managed the financial operations of the Wisconsin Association of School Boards, the WASB Insurance Plan, the WASB Legal Services Fund, and the Wisconsin School Attorneys Association, since he began employment with the WASB in 1983. He recently began helping the Wisconsin School Public Relations Association organize its financial system and is honored to be asked to serve as treasurer of the WSPRA.

Joe graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh but chose to pursue a career that combined accounting work with a variety of other business responsibilities. Working for the WASB has offered Joe a chance to gain a wide variety of experience and skills and to contribute in an indirect, but nonetheless genuine way, to the association’s mission and goals which ultimately benefit the children in our state’s public schools. Joe is very proud of his two children who are currently enrolled in the Waunakee School District. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, volunteers regularly to support his children’s extra-curricular activities, and takes advantage of Wisconsin’s abundant resources and opportunities for outdoor recreation whenever possible.
