Dorreen Dembski has served public schools in a public/community relations capacity for over 15 years. She developed the pragmatic skills of the school public relations profession while leading the many communication activities of the West Bend School District for 13 years. She is currently able to apply those skills statewide as the communications director for CESA 6. She has been a member of WSPRA for all of those 15 years; she joined the Board of Directors and served as its president from 2006 to 2008.
In her service to WASB, Dorreen writes and publishes newsletters and special topic brochures, plans and implements WASB's annual convention and special workshops, develops and implements communication plans for WASB initiatives. She is a skilled presenter, having spoken at NSPRA's national convention, numerous organizations and colleges, the Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators, and WASB conventions. She has authored articles for Wisconsin School News and the WSPRAgram and has assisted with the planning of many WSPRA initiatives.
Prior to working in public schools, she worked as a marketing director in the private sector for 8 years. Dorreen earned her Bachelor of Science from Purdue University, with a major in organizational communication and journalism.
