Jim Strick honored as WSPRA's 2025 School Communicator of the Year

Congratulations to Jim Strick, Communications Manager for the Neenah Joint School District, who has been named WSPRA's 2025 Mary Pat Pfeil School Communicator of the Year!
Jim was chosen by the WSPRA Board of Directors from exemplary nominations representing school public relations professionals throughout the State of Wisconsin. This award recognizes the outstanding leadership and contributions of active, front-line school communicators who work full-time in school districts or education service agencies. Nominations focus on four areas: Leadership, Communication, Professionalism and Community Involvement.
Mary Pfeiffer, Retired Superintendent for Neenah Joint School District, shared the following during the announcement of the award:
It is my privilege to introduce Jim Strick — a communicator, storyteller, and advocate whose work exemplifies the pride of Neenah and of school communities across Wisconsin. His daily efforts strengthen district operations. His ability to engage stakeholders, interpret data, and create clear and compelling communications supports informed, confident decision-making. He consistently turns complex, fast-changing information into messages that are steady, understandable, and centered on people. Those qualities are foundational — and Jim demonstrates them every day.
What truly sets Jim apart is the way he approaches his work. He brings curiosity, joy, and genuine care to every conversation. He listens first, responds thoughtfully, and seeks solutions that are practical and grounded. His commitment extends well beyond the school day — early mornings, late evenings, weekends — he is there when the community needs him. He’s also the familiar, passionate voice at WIAA state tournaments for more than 25 years, elevating athletes’ moments with meticulous preparation and real enthusiasm, and he continues to be the voice of the our Neenah Rockets.
Jim’s professional dedication is matched by his devotion to his family. Supported by his wife, Nikki, their two children, Quinn and Carter, as well as other family members, he carries the same sense of care, accountability, and steadiness into every relationship he builds and every message he shapes.
Today we recognize someone whose daily work and public presence have made a measurable and lasting difference for students, families, staff, and colleagues. Jim, your leadership, integrity, and commitment truly matters and sets a standard for all of us.
Jim’s wife, Nikki, and their children, Quinn and Carter, were present for the announcement, as well as Jim’s parents, Pete and Roxie Strick; Neenah Joint School District Superintendent, Steve Harrison, and CFO, Jon Joch; and Mary’s husband, Jim Pfeiffer.
